Menlo Park, Calif. — On the morning of Monday, September 12, 2022, Menlo Park Police Officers observed a subject sitting in a parked vehicle in front of a residence in the 100 block of Donohoe Street in East Palo Alto (this block of Donohoe Street includes addresses in both cities of Menlo Park and East Palo Alto). The subject in the vehicle was known to officers from prior law enforcement related contacts and known to be on California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR) Parole. Additionally, officers had knowledge that one of the occupants of the residence on Donohoe Street had an outstanding Menlo Park Police felony arrest warrant for weapons and narcotics offenses. By the time officers made contact at the vehicle, it was unoccupied.

Officers contacted the occupants of the residence and asked to speak with the individual they had observed in the vehicle earlier. Despite being initially informed that no one was in the residence, officers were able to conduct a search, and located the subject who was seen earlier sitting in the parked vehicle, hiding in the basement. The subject with the outstanding Menlo Park weapons and narcotics warrant was located hiding in an upstairs closet.

Several additional people were contacted in the residence including one female juvenile runaway who was subsequently reunited with her mother.
