See something, say something works: Man in possession of a gun

Menlo Park, Calif. – This afternoon around 1:50 p.m., a concerned community member called the Menlo Park Police Department regarding a possible person armed with an assault rifle parked in the area of O’Brien Drive and Kavanaugh Drive. Menlo Park patrol officers planned a high risk stop and detained an adult male who was wearing a bullet proof vest armed with an assault rifle. The male adult was taken into custody for questioning and evaluation.

Update: 

The male adult was identified as Steven Dos Santos, a 34 year old male of San Mateo. Dos Santos was booked into San Mateo County jail for the charges of unlawful possession or transport of a machinegun and carrying a loaded firearm.
