Parolee out on bail arrested for possession of a firearm and narcotics

Menlo Park, Calif. — On October 7, 2022 at 3:31 pm, Menlo Park Police Officers conducted a parole compliance check on parolee Artemio Sepulveda, a 25-year-old resident of Menlo Park.
Officers contacted Sepulveda at the front threshold of his residence on the 700 block of Pierce Road. While officers were speaking with him, they observed a 9mm, semiautomatic firearm in plain view and within reach of Sepulveda. Sepulveda was immediately arrested without incident or injury. A subsequent search of his residence was completed and yielded approximately two pounds of marijuana, suspected fentanyl, a digital scale, gang indicia, and two 9mm 100 round high capacity magazines.
Sepulveda is on parole for a residential burglary and bringing narcotics into a secured jail facility. Shortly thereafter, officers learned Sepulveda was also out on bail for possession of a firearm and driving under the influence.
Sepulveda was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on the following charges:
- 29900(A)(1) PC-Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (F)
- 32310(A) PC-Possession of a large capacity magazine (F)
- 25850(C)(6) PC-Carry loaded handgun and not the registered owner (F)
- 11350(A) HS-Possess narcotic controlled substance (M)
- 3056 PC-Violation of parole: felony (F)
