Two colorful hand drawn pictures,

RethinkWaste is excited to announce its annual poster contest with the theme of Super Sorters. This year, there are two contest categories with winners from each: elementary school students (in grades 3-5) and middle school students (in grades 6-8) within its service area. The theme is to show and teach others how students, their family or class can sort waste items using the compost, recycling and solid waste bins.

Contest guidelines:

  • Participants must be third to eighth-grade students in the RethinkWaste service area.
  • Poster must be 8.5 x 11-inch white paper in landscape (horizontal) orientation. No lined paper.
  • No copyrighted material, computer graphics, or characters. Must be all original artwork.
  • Posters must be 2D and in any medium (paint, markers, color pencils, crayons, etc.)

This year’s contest is only for individual students. Only one entry is permitted per student. The winning poster will be displayed on a local Recology truck, and the top two winners will choose either a fun activity or a gift card.

Submissions are due online Oct. 6 by 11:59 p.m. Online applications are now available on the Poster Contest webpage in English and in Español.
