Walking and rolling video challenge deadline extended

The Menlo Park Safe Routes to School program is inviting all students to celebrate Earth Day, April 22, by submitting a video to promote active transportation and its benefits for their health, the environment and the community. The Safe Routes to School Program is excited to hear where people walk and roll and what they like the most about their commute. The submission deadline has been extended to April 30, 2020, to participate in the video challenge.
Fill out your contact information and submit your video by April 30. Your video and submission form will be sent to the Safe Routes to School Coordinator. We will be giving out first, second, third place prizes and a classroom prize!
First place: $120 - Menlo Velo
Second place: $50 - Menlo Velo
Third place: $30 - Sports Basement
Classroom prize: Pizza party or Popsicle party

The fun starts here, choose your favorite spot. This can be your school, walk home, outside/inside, favorite park, store or public space!

Make your plan!
- Reflect on where you would like to record your video and who you would like to make your video with. Think about where you would like to record your video.
- Get your classmates, family and friends to join you! This challenge can be done with people or alone, whichever you are comfortable with.
- What are you grateful for on this walk/roll? Think with your senses here!
- What do you love about this place?
3. Create your video!
- Once you have your spot and friends get creative and film yourself responding to the questions: What do you like about walking and rolling to this spot? Why do you like this place?
- End your video with the following tagline: “Let’s roll!”
4. Share your video with us!
