Learn about bike news in the community and Bike to Wherever Day
Published on May 16, 2022
As National Bike Month continues through the month of May, there are many upcoming events and bike-related news to share in Menlo Park!
One of the biggest events is Bike to Wherever Days, on Friday, May 20, 2022. There are many energizer stations throughout Menlo Park and the Bay Area, be sure to check out the energizer station list for locations/times to grab some goodies, including the 2022 Bike to Wherever canvas bag. Please fill out the pledge to ride stating you will ride a bike sometime in May. Show this at an energizer station to get a free canvas bag. These pledges also enter you to win prizes, along with gathering counts on bike riders for the month!
Join us Saturday, May 21, 2022! The City of Menlo Park Safe Routes to School program is partnering with the Silicon Valley Bike Coalition to put on a free family bike skills class. This event is open to bike riders of all ages to teach them crucial cycling safety skills. The event will start at 10 a.m. at the Belle Haven Branch Library, with a short ride to the new Meta Park to perform the skills class. This is a great opportunity to not only learn some new biking skills, but to also check out the new park and bike bridge over Bayfront Expressway. Register for the event.
Did you know, Caltrain has a bike shed at the Menlo Park Caltrain station to park your bike if you commute by rail? Get started by filling out an application. Additionally, Caltrain plans to e-lockers at the station as another form of secure bike parking. These lockers are operated digitally using a BikeLink card, similar to those at other Caltrain and BART stations.
