Join us this month for two new exiting events to learn more about the role of a Safe Routes to School champion and participate in webinar series on the introduction to Safe Routes to School for your community.

The Menlo Park Safe Routes to School program is convening parents and other community members who are interested in getting involved in Safe Routes to School at their school. Join us Wednesday, Oct. 26, at noon. This event will be an opportunity to learn more about the roles of a Safe Routes to School champion, share ideas on education and encouragement activities, discuss challenges to implement Safe Routes to School programs in schools, and develop a network of volunteers for school-based events. Current and former parent Safe Routes to School champions will share their experiences and lessons learned. Register for this meeting.

New to Safe Routes to School – or just in need of a refresher? Join Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m.–noon, to explore the basics of starting and growing a Safe Routes to School program. Learn about advocacy, community organization, parent/guardian involvement and ideas for education and encouragement activities. This webinar is part of a series of free webinars presented by the Safe Routes Partnership.
