Upcoming closures at Encinal Avenue crossing

Encinal Avenue railroad crossing will be closed for the following weekends in May for track maintenance work.

  • First weekend: Starting Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m. until Monday, May 20 at 5 a.m.
  • Second weekend: Starting Friday, May 31 at 8 p.m. until Monday, June 3 at 5 a.m.

Vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic will not be able to cross the tracks during this closure. Caltrain will establish detour signs for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists to help with traffic flow. Neighbors may experience construction noise during this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The maintenance work will include the resurfacing and realignment of both tracks to maintain their state of good repair. New pavement and striping will also be included as part of the maintenance work. These elements will provide a smoother, safer crossing for vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists.
