Belle Haven Traffic Calming Plan implementation This project would fund ongoing staff time to support completion of the Belle Haven Traffic Calming Plan implementation efforts. This project is required as an environmental mitigation measure for the Facebook Campus Expansion project.
Caltrain grade separation The existing Ravenswood Avenue Caltrain crossing is a critical rail crossing within Menlo Park. It is within the El Camino Real/Downtown Specific Plan Area and falls within the City’s Priority Development Area.
Caltrain Quiet Zone Implementation Plan development The city is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to develop an implementation plan for the establishment of a quiet zone along the Caltrain corridor in Menlo Park.
Coleman-Ringwood Avenues Transportation Study The goal of this study is to identify a conceptual street design developed with community input and engagement for Ringwood and Coleman Avenues that improves transportation, safety, and mobility for all roadway users.
El Camino Real Crossings improvements This project designs improvements for east-west pedestrian and bicycle connections as identified in the El Camino Real Corridor Study at Ravenswood Avenue, Encinal Avenue and Roble Avenue.
Haven Avenue streetscape improvement The Haven Avenue streetscape project will provide new bicycle and pedestrian facilities to Haven Avenue, connecting Menlo Park, San Mateo County and Redwood City residents and employees.
Middle Avenue Caltrain crossing This project will provide a grade separated pedestrian and bicycle rail crossing under the Caltrain railway to connect Burgess Park to the southside of the Caltrain tracks and El Camino Real at Middle Avenue.
Middle Avenue Complete Streets This project is planning, designing, and implementing traffic calming and a new bike facility on Middle Avenue between El Camino Real and Olive Street.
Middlefleld Road Safe Streets Project This project includes converting and evaluating Middlefield Road from a four lane road to a three lane road (including a center turn lane and buffers to the bicycle lanes) between approximately Ringwood Avenue and Linfield Drive. It also includes safety upgrades between Willow Road and the City limit.
Comprehensive Shuttle Study The City of Menlo Park offers free shuttles that connect Caltrain and local business parks, along with free community shuttles. This project will analyze current transportation options and propose service changes to better serve the community.
Vision Zero Action Plan In January 2024, the City adopted the Vision Zero Action Plan as a blueprint to implement the City’s Vision Zero policy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2040. Vision Zero is an integrated set of policies, plans and programs based on the philosophy that fatal collisions are unacceptable and often preventable.
Willow Road Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety project The City is working with Caltrans to implement pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements on Willow Road (State Route 114) from Bayfront Expressway to U.S. 101, including enhanced crossings, separated (Class IV) bikeways on both side, and signal enhancements.
