The 2025 Street Resurfacing project is part of the five-year street maintenance program to keep public streets in good condition by performing annual pavement repairs city-wide. The project will improve 14 city streets across five districts and includes asphalt mill and overlays, signing and striping and minor concrete improvements (including sidewalk gap closures and curb ramp upgrades at select locations). On March 25, the City Council awarded the project’s construction contract to Teichert Construction. To date, Teichert has completed utility valve adjustments and concrete work in preparation for asphalt resurfacing (tentatively scheduled from mid-July to mid-August). Please be aware that the following streets will soon be repaved. Monday, July 21 – Tuesday, July 22 Woodland Avenue: Middlefield Road to Lexington Drive Woodland Avenue: Pope Street to Woodland Avenue Saturday, July 26 Middlefield Road: Willow Road to Santa Margarita Drive Partial lane closures and traffic impacts are anticipated during construction. The City will make its best efforts to minimize disturbance and traffic controls will be enforced at all times for public safety. Message boards and public notices will be posted along Middlefield Road prior to the weekend work. Construction notices to impacted businesses and residents will also be distributed in advance of resurfacing. Additional information, including a map of the proposed resurfacing locations, is included on the project webpage. Staff will periodically update the webpage to inform stakeholders of changes in scope, schedule or other milestones.
