The following resources are ways for students and their families to learn more about Safe Routes to School techniques and safety tips, and how to get more involved in the community. Walk and roll maps are also available for each school. Images from the safety handbook are available for download below, these can be used for educational materials such as presentations.

Bicycles for the community

The Menlo-Atherton High School Bike Club offers students a chance to learn valuable skills fixing bicycles. These bicycles are provided to fellow students in need at the high school and around the community. Bicycles are always in need, please consider donating any unwanted bicycles to help the program. To learn more about the program or to donate, please contact the bike club sponsor James Nelson.

Other organizations that provide bicycles include Live in Peace and Turning Wheels for Kids.

Bicycle blender

The City of Menlo Park has a bicycle-powered blender available for loan to make Safe Routes activities and events at school more fun. There is a bicycle blender that can be used to make smoothies, and a spin art attachment to create fun works of art. Here are some sample smoothie recipes and spin art tips for inspiration. For more information or inquiries about renting for your school's event, please email the Safe Routes to School Coordinator.
